CHM provides a full suite of traffic management services including: design and consultation of TMPs, signage & barrier hire, traffic control personnel (flaggers, traffic controllers), event traffic management, pedestrian routing, road closure & diversion implementation, and ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and removal of the scheme.
Cost varies widely depending on scope, road type, duration, equipment, and complexity. CHM will provide a custom quote after assessing your site and required traffic scheme.
A Temporary Traffic Management Plan (TMP) is a detailed scheme showing how traffic (vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists) will be managed during roadworks or events. You’ll need one whenever you are undertaking works on or near public roads, for example utility works, repairs, or special events. Regulators often require an approved TMP before issuing road closure or diversion permits.
Yes. CHM operates under Irish health & safety standards and is NSAI (National Standards Authority of Ireland) certified. All signage, barriers, and procedures conform to the Irish “Chapter 8” guidelines (Traffic Signs Manual, Temporary Works) and relevant local authority rules. (As indicated on site: “Health & Safety NSAI certified.”)
To secure a road closure permit in Dublin, you must submit your TMP, risk assessment, public notification plan, diversion scheme, and evidence of insurance to the relevant local authority or transport body. CHM can assist with permit applications, drawing up the necessary documentation, and liaison with Dublin City Council or Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
While CHM is Dublin-based, it serves across Ireland. Their headquarters are in Tallaght, Dublin 24, with regional offices including Cork.
CHM stands out due to its experience on major infrastructure projects (e.g. M50, airport works), broad service divisions (road markings, VRS systems, consultancy) and flexibility in turnkey solutions.
The cost depends on several factors: duration and complexity of works, road type (local street vs high-speed road), equipment required (barriers, lights, signage), personnel levels, permit and insurance fees, and the location. CHM offers site surveys and quotations to provide a transparent cost estimate for each project.
