TEMPERORY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

Project Overview:

CHM Group produced a Preliminary Stage Temporary Traffic Management plan and associated Risk Assessment on behalf of TII identifying the construction stage Traffic Management requirements to facilitate works on the proposed development of the Dunkettle Interchange.

The Dunkettle Interchange, located approximately 6km to the east of Cork City, averaging 11000 vehicles daily is of strategic importance as it is the intersection of a number of key national routes:

  • The M8/N8 Dublin to Cork Road
  • The N25 Cork to Waterford Road
  • The N40 southern Ring Road (through the Jack Lynch Tunnel)

Key features of CHM’s service

The proposed development involves the reconfiguration of the existing Dunkettle Interchange to a free-flowing Interchange.

Our services to facilitate civil works at this stage encompass:

  • Site Inspection and Assessment
  • Temporary Traffic Management Design Production
  • Provision and installation of Temporary Vehicle Restraint System H2W6, Varioguard and Massguard
  • Implementation of TTM systems- Lane Closures main lane N25, N/M8 and N40 and Shuttle systems on adjacent Local and Regional roads with options to be manually or VATL controlled
  • The daily routine maintenance crew
  • Temporary road marking application
